Notes from Isola

A portrait of a neighbourhood through words and images, the voices of the inhabitants and the commuters. Looking at streets, at crossroads and at the meaning of the word “culture” nowadays. A bridge between l’Isola (the Island) and the city that surrounds it.

Strolling around the neighbourhood, meeting people, eliciting stories about l’Isola and life there, questioning collectively about cultural production nowadays.

This is where the project started. We took pictures of places and kept meeting people to collect images of their life in the neighbourhood. Then we set up an exhibition, that is an art installation to go through, to listen to, to look at. A place where people who never met before can meet, chat, sit and have a coffee, like in a public square.
